MEB was recently awarded HRSD's "VIP Nutrient Reduction Improvements Contract B Project." This $108M project includes deep excavations with sheeting/shoring and pile driving for new structures and pipe support slabs. New facilities include a Preliminary Treatment Facility, Equalization Tank, Versatile Bioreactor, Supplemental Carbon Storage and Feed Facility, Chlorine Contact Channel, Parshall Flume, Main Switchgear Building and an additional Secondary Clarifier. The project also includes major improvements/upgrades to all the existing facilities.

Chesapeake, VA. Two employees at MEB General Contractors have been elected to lead construction industry organizations in Hampton Roads. Mark Olmstead has been elected President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). Mr. Olmstead is the Senior Vice President at MEB and has been with the company for more than 30 years. He has managed the construction of many of the companies' highest profile projects including Oceanaire and Ocean Beach Club II at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, the new SEABEES Headquarters (LEED Platinum) at JEB Little Creek - Fort Story and the current expansion for Bauer Compressor in Norfolk. The mission of the DBIA is to achieve and maintain recognition as the industry center of expertise for design-build practice, to lead the expansion of design-build utilization across all industries and markets, and to pursue this mission in a manner that is inclusive of all project participants in integrated services delivery.
